ISBN 80-903348-0-6

EN: An allegorical statue created in the workshop of Matthias Bernard Braun. It depicts an old, dark Chron who, with an hourglass in his hand, bends over a mutilated human torso. The statue is a copy, the original can be seen in the Church of St. Peter in Louny.
"Unfortunately, Braun's statues originally standing in the facade and in the immediate vicinity of the church have not been preserved. Fortunately, two sculptures on the wall that once delimited the cemetery area were preserved. These are famous allegories or symbols whose meaning is not unambiguous. In the history of art, the figure of the old man became more famous. The girl's sculpture on the opposite corner of the cemetery wall had always been in the old man's shadow. Perhaps it is not so expressive in expression is also more difficult to access. But if it hadn't been for her, her gestures of nursing life, the old man would have lost most of his symbolism, his placement would have lost its meaning. There are no experts in the name of the sculptures. They most often called them allegories of Faith and Time (hence Chronos)."- citation Roedl B., Cítoliby. Nakladatelství Digon Louny, Louny 2003.
