The Blanchard Fire Department was established in 1941 as an all-volunteer facility. It remained as such until 2008 when a full-time Fire Chief was hired. Today, there are three full-time employees plus 30 certified volunteer firefighters.
The fire station is a one-story metal building with four overhead bays located at 106 S. Monroe Avenue. A second fire station is in the planning stages, awaiting funding and will be built at the corner of 55th and Ward Acres Road.
