" La première chapelle, édifiée en 1607 par Thomas Poussin, était orientée est-ouest : elle possédait trois autels dans le choeur et six chapelles latérales.
Cette chapelle primitive menaçait ruine dès 1714, et une nouvelle chapelle est construite sur les plans de l'ingénieur Siméon Garangeau (1738-1743), suivant une direction nord-sud, et achevée en 1742 par l'architecte Michel Marion.
La nouvelle chapelle se compose d'une nef avec une abside à pans coupés et deux rangées de chapelles latérales. A l'intérieur, la nef est divisée en quatre travées et accostée de chaque côté de trois chapelles.
Sous la chapelle s'étend une crypte dans laquelle on inhumait jadis les chapelains de l'Hôtel-Dieu. La chapelle est convertie en magasin à fourrages durant la Révolution et sert de prison pour les troupes royalistes après leur défaite de Granville en 1793.
Incendiée en 1944, la chapelle a subi d'importantes restaurations, elle a été réouverte en 1974 pour abriter les expositions temporaires du musée municipal. "

The new chapel consists of a nave with a canted apse and two rows of side chapels. Inside, the nave is divided into four bays and accosted on each side by three chapels.
Under the chapel is a crypt in which the chaplains of the Hôtel-Dieu were formerly buried. The chapel was converted into a fodder store during the Revolution and served as a prison for royalist troops after their defeat at Granville in 1793.
Burned in 1944, the chapel underwent major restorations, it was reopened in 1974 to house the temporary exhibitions of the municipal museum. "
