The town of Blanchard was first incorporated in 1907 and the first school was occupied in 1909. This bell rang from its roof.

The bell and yoke are mounted atop an 8-foot high brick pedestal in front of the Blanchard Alumni Association at 400 N. Harrison Avenue. A bronze plaque on the pedestal reads:

This is the original bell from Blanchard's first school.
The bell was placed in the belfry of the two-story red brick
building which was first occupied in 1909. The building was
located fifty yards southeast of this site.

Donations to build this structure to preserve a
historical part of our school were made by Blanchard
Alumni Association members and the Class of 2002.
