Newcastle Fire Station No. 1 - Firehouses on Waymarking.com

There are currently three fire stations in Newcastle. Established in 1967, it was an all volunteer set-up. In 1998, after a tax incentive, six paid firefighters were added. Currently, the three stations have a staff of 17 paid and 10 volunteers.

The Department has a total of four engines, one tanker, four grass rigs, one Hazmat trailer, a Fire Prevention trailer, a Command Unit and a Staff Unit. They respond to approximately 1,000 calls per year.

Station No. 3 is a one-story metal building with three vehicle bays and an office area.
