This particular shield, placed on the walls of Rodos, next to the cross, emblem of the Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem, belongs to the Grand Master Giovanni Battista degli Orsini."

"Giovanni Battista Orsini became the Grand Prior of the Order of Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem in 1442. He was in charge until 1466 after which he became the 39th Grand Master of the Order. In 1470, he restored the Fortress of Feraklos, on the island of Rodes where he died 6 years later."
