Smithsonian Art Inventory"A uniformed Confederate soldier stands at parade rest, holding the barrel of his rifle at chest height with both hands, the butt of the rifle resting by his feet. He wears a brimmed hat and has pouches strapped around his waist. The soldier is mounted upon a three-tiered granite base with rustic finish, and a relief of a Confederate flag with polished stripes."
