This bridge has seen the city of Bangkok grow and expand for decades. The bridge spans one of the cities many canals and links two sides of the tourist area of Bangkok, near the famous Khao San Rd. The bridge caters to both pedestrian and automobile traffic. On both sides of the bridge, there is an identical date stone. The date is given in Thai text in the Buddhist year format: 2460 BE = 1917 AD. There is a second date, 2515BE = 1972 AD. This marks bridge renovation.
The bridge is near the main river of Bangkok, the Chao Phraya River. Parking is available throughout this area if you can find an empty parking bay.
I could not find a specific name for the canal. The parking location is a nearby small public park on the river.
Date built or dedicated as indicated on the date stone or plaque.: 2460
Date stone, plaque location.: Two stones, centre of the bridge, on the bridge walls, facing inward.
Road, body of water, land feature, etc. that the bridge spans.: Unnamed canal.
