"Ce timbre, ainsi que trois autres, ont été émis le 23 Juin 1973. La série culture & Bâtiments comprend également la Collégiale Saint-Ursmer de Lobbes,l'Abbaye de Parc-le-Duc (Leuven) et l'Abbaye de La Byloke à Gand.

L'abbaye de Floreffe était située sur un promontoire dominant la Sambre, sur le territoire de Floreffe, à une dizaine de kilomètres de la ville de Namur. Ses constructions entourent une ravissante cour d'honneur et s'étalent du XIIe au XVIIIe siècles. L'église abbatiale de 100 mètres de long contient de superbes stalles baroques. Un intéressant musée occupe les annexes médiévales de l'abbatiale."

"This stamp, along with three others, was issued on June 23, 1973. The Culture & Buildings series also includes the Collegiate Church of Saint-Ursmer in Lobbes, the Abbey of Parc-le-Duc (Leuven) and the Abbey of La Byloke in Ghent.

The abbey of Floreffe was located on a promontory overlooking the Sambre river, on the territory of Floreffe, about ten kilometres from the city of Namur. Its buildings surround a charming courtyard of honour and span from the 12th to the 18th centuries. The 100-metre long abbey church contains superb baroque stalls. An interesting museum occupies the medieval annexes of the abbey church."
