Location of ruins: MO Hwy CC, Battler of Athens State Histrionic Site, St. Louis St. & Virginia St.

The Colton-Gordon House ruin located in the former town of Athens MO.
There is no information about the house or it's owners in the park's brochure...and that is strange because this is a prominent location

Athens was a booming river town at one time and the site of the northern most battle of the American Civil War. Union victory, but railroad went else where after the war and that doomed this town.
