This may be the first time I've encountered a reference to my home town of Detroit, MI on a Woodmen of the World monument. This one is topped by a cross, and the organizational emblem is superimposed upon the Gates of Heaven. The inscription reads:

Detroit, Michigan.
Died Feb. 18, 1902,
Stephenville, Texas.
