Superman Ride of Steel in in a new class of roller coasters called hypercoasters. This style of over-sized roller coaster must be higher than 200' feet. Superman The Ride is a steel coaster that has a height of 208' and an initial drop of a nearly vertical 221 feet. It is located in the DC Super Hero Adventures section of Six Flags New England.

Since it's installation at Six Flags New England on May 5, 2000 it has been re-branded several times. Originally it was called the Superman Ride of Steel. In 2009, it was re-branded Bizarro, after a DC Comics character who is the opposite of Superman. At that time it was painted purple and sound effects were added. In 2016, it was re-branded again as the current Superman The Ride and the coaster was painted a bright red.
