Elle a été sculptée sur place sur un sapin mélèze destiné à la destruction pour risque de chute.

L'œuvre d'art est signé André Sandel sur une plaque au bas de la sculpture.Il s'est inspiré de la fable "le lièvre et la tortue" du poète français Jean de la fontaine du 17eme siècle pour sa création.
