The Victorian Italianate style Moorabool Railway Station, on the Geelong-Ballarat line, was constructed of locally quarried squared, rock faced basalt in 1861 which is a derivation of the style common in England during the 1840's-50's. consisted of the station office, a two storey residence, lamproom and toilets with timber verandah over the platform,
