The chapel, open all year, is a building of worship that welcomes many skiers in winter and many mountain dwellers and tourists the rest of the year. Inaugurated in 1954, it is an integral part of La Mongie-Grand Tourmalet station. It thus constitutes an important element of the memory of the local populations and is part of the heritage of the valley.
The chapel
The building fits perfectly into the landscape and some buildings in 1950, today, many buildings surround it. It is located in the space of the Grenouillère, real center of the station. The exterior siding is stone and the roof, originally slate, is nowadays covered with steel plates in very bad condition. Internally, the building is very sober, the walls and vault were repainted in 1998.
The parish team wants to clarify that failure to renovate Notre-Dame des Neiges, the risk of settling squatters is great. It is therefore very important to do everything to save this site.

La chapelle, ouverte toute l'année, est un édifice de culte qui accueille de nombreux skieurs en hiver et de nombreux montagnards et touristes le reste de l'année. Inaugurée en 1954, elle fait partie intégrante de la station de La Mongie-Grand Tourmalet. Elle constitue ainsi un élément important de la mémoire des populations locales et fait partie du patrimoine de la vallée.

L'édifice s'inscrit parfaitement dans le paysage et de quelques constructions en 1950, aujourd'hui, de très nombreuses constructions l'entourent. Elle est implantée dans l'espace de la Grenouillère, véritable centre de la station. Les parements extérieurs sont en pierre et la toiture, à l'origine en ardoise, est en partie aujourd'hui recouverte de plaques acier en très mauvais état. Intérieurement, le bâtiment est très sobre, les murs et la voûte ont été repeints en 1998.
L'ensemble paroissial tient à préciser qu'à défaut de rénover Notre-Dame des Neiges, le risque de voir s'y installer des squatters est grand. Il est donc très important de tout faire pour sauver ce site.
