Milford provided a connecting point between the mines to the west and the railroad through town. The Milford Hotel was built in 1913 and faces the rail station. The hotel featured an ornate lobby, cafe and bar. The sign on the portico over the entrance uses white neon on a red background. With the entrance on the corner, the sign faces the rail station. Hanging from the front of the building, again over the entrance, is a smaller sign with a red body and the words Hotel Milford in white. It also uses white neon.
