According to the latter article:
"History - Established in 1977 by Robert Hoover and many local folks. Milwaukee Rail Road Depot was moved to the 2 acre site on Route 72 followed by a Illinois Central caboose. The oldest Genoa well building is on the museum campus. The caboose is from mid 1950s."

Could use a new paint job soon.
