Fr Le fort est situé à environ 9 kilomètres au sud-ouest du centre de Liège, dominant la vallée de la Meuse, dont il barrait le passage, en amont de Liège.

Le fort est quadrangulaire et non triangulaire, contrastant avec la majorité des forts construits par Brialmont. Un fossé de 5 mètres de profondeur et de 12 mètres de large entoure le fort. L'armement principal est concentré dans le massif central. Les fossés étaient défendus en enfilade par des fusils à tir rapide de 57 mm disposés dans les coffres de contrescarpe. Le fort est un des plus larges forts liégeois.

Celui-ci est visitable grâce à l'ASBL qui le gère. Des visites passionnantes guidées par des passionnés.
En The fort is located about 9 kilometres southwest of the centre of Liege, overlooking the Meuse valley, which it blocked the passage of, upstream of Liege.

The fort is quadrangular and not triangular, in contrast to the majority of forts built by Brialmont. A ditch 5 metres deep and 12 metres wide surrounds the fort. The main armament is concentrated in the Massif Central. The ditches were defended in a row by 57 mm rapid-fire rifles placed in the counterscarp chests. The fort is one of the largest in Liège.

It can be visited thanks to the non-profit organisation that manages it. Exciting tours guided by passionate people.
