[ENG]
Plunged into great distress caused by the forced embarkation of
her husband aboard a ship that will deport her, a mother forgets her pain to console her child. She tries in vain to comfort him by squeezing him against his body. Leaning over him to better envelop him, and to protect him from those who overwhelm them, she would like him to be a fetus again, so that he can not be taken from that one being he has left. While the mother postpones her resentment, the child, her eyes screaming with tears,
look out at the boat that leads his father to the ship that will deport him to exile, from where he must not return. The clothes correspond to those worn by the victims of this dark time, so that the sculpted work is well representative of the drama.
