[ENG] The Schulkate was built here near the Schulberg, an Ice Age sand hill, in 1752 by the Hamburg merchant and Senator Boetefeur, who was responsible for the Hamburg forest villages. The school cottage originally had two small classrooms and housed the schoolmaster in the residential part. He was mostly a shoemaker or tailor and cultivated a few square rods of land.

The school gate was moved to Ohlstedt in 1828 and since 1989 has again been located not far from the original location in Volksdorf.

Today there is a restaurant on the ground floor and event rooms on the top floor.
