The first burial in the cemetery was that of J.A. Leflet, a cowboy working for John Lynch and his wife, "Aunt Fannie", who arrived here with the Gunsolus family in the 1860s. The Lynches were fairly well-to-do, and this land was part of their Fairview Ranch. Other cowboys were buried here, and if their graves are marked, there are no legible headstones to tell us about them. Aunt Fannie's father, Dr. Peter Gunsolus, was a notable area settler -- a creek bears his name in Stephens County, not far from here -- and he is buried here with his wife, Susan, and other family members. The last burial that Findagrave lists is that of John Alexander Gunsolus, their son, who passed on in 1935.
