"Le bâtiment de la Caisse d'Epargne orne la place Carnot, place centrale de Nevers. Comme dans beaucoup de villes de province, les édifices "Belle Epoque" des Caisses d'Epargne sont des joyaux architecturaux.
Dans un style néo-gothique, bâti en lieu et placea de maisons d’habitation, ce sont l’architecte Auguste Palet et le sculpteur Alix Marquet qui furent en charge de construire cet édifice s’inspirant du Palais Ducal.
La sculpture représente une scène agricole pour symboliser l'épargne patiemment récoltée."
