Two Norman fonts and a blocked high level Norman window in St Mary's church, Burham.
The oldest part of this church are some Roman tiles taken from local Romano-British villas.
Aside from the Roman tiles, the oldest part of the building is Norman. The main structure of the building is 12th century, with 13th-century nave arcades, and there are two Norman fonts, one with a square bowl and the other with a round bowl. The latter was brought from the ‘new’ church up in the village when that building was demolished due to subsidence. Both fonts have arcade carving around the outside of the bowl.
Blocked arcade arches are still visible on both sides of the nave.
In the north wall is one blocked high level Norman window between two blocked arcade arches.
