This is a metal casting of a firefighter. He is dressed in full uniform with his hat, and is holding a fire axe over his right shoulder. The sculpture is approximately five feet high.

It is standing on the concrete sidewalk in front of the Fire & Rescue building in Fletcher. The casting was created in 2006, and purchased in 2017 by TDS Telecom and placed to honor one of its long-time employees Doug Cottrell, who was killed in a traffic accident in 2017. Doug Cottrell was a long-time resident of Fletcher, a former City Councilman, and a volunteer fireman.

Alongside the sculpture is a plaque honoring Cottrell, which reads:

In honor of
Doug Cottrell
1961 - 2017
Forever in our hearts
