Family of Raccoons is a beautifully realistic sculpture of animals on a tree. It is located near the trail entrance of Martin Park. Martin Park is on the south side of Memorial rd., between MacArthur and Meridian.

Park hours:
April 1 thru September 30: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
October 1 thru March 31: 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Closed Mondays

Family of Raccoons is about 8 feet tall, and made of cold-cast bronze. The main feature is the family of 5 raccoons, but other animals are depicted in the art piece: a turtle and a squirrel. Also added to the sculpture are fungi. The entire sculpture looks quite realistic!

This outdoor art is placed at the fork in the trail, between parking and the Visitor's Center.

According to the agenda on us.gov website:

This sculpture piece is cast in cold-cast bronze, a mixture of polyester resin, glass fibers, and bronze powder. It has a steel armature. We were surprised by the photograph above showing the new location for this piece. Formerly it was just past the first bridge from the parking lot, on a hillside at a sharp bend in the pathway to the right of the path where it would be touchable, but high enough to discourage climbing.
