BC’s early history was carved out of the wilderness by thousands
of hand working and often cowboys.

The BC Cowboy Hall of Fame was started by the BC Cowboy Heritage Society
in 1998 to capture the memories of these living legends and share their stories

The Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin has interesting displays in its main area just as you enter. It features local First Nations artifacts, the history of settlement, and the BC Cowboy Hall of Fame. These exhibits are free to visit during their regular business hours.

"Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin hosts a collection of nearly 30,000 artifacts relating to the diverse histories of the Cariboo Chilcotin region.

With the largest saddle collection in western Canada, we have a number of intriguing western exhibits. We are also the home of the BC Cowboy Hall of Fame, a collection of artifacts, archives, photos, and narratives about the many individuals who operate ranches or compete in western-style competitions. Other displays include artifacts relating the Williams Lake rodeo as well local First Nations. The museum also has a number of temporary and seasonal displays planned every summer."
