Valemount is the last major town, if heading to Mount Robson Provincial Park, and continuing to Jasper. Valemount is a beautiful area and not far from the visitor centre is George Hicks Regional Park where in August you can witness the spectacular event of the Chinook salmon spawning in Swift Creek.
The visitor centre offers local and regional information and up coming events, local campgrounds and places to eat. There are also wildlife displays and information about the Chinook salmon.
