[DE] Die Schleuse Leerstetten wurde in der Zeit von 1974 bis 1980 im Rahmen des Baues der Bundeswasserstraße Main-Donau-Kanal errichtet und am 27. September 1985 in Betrieb genommen. Mit einer Schleusungs-Fallhöhe von 24,67 Meter ist sie eine der drei größten Schleusen die in Deutschland bisher gebaut wurden.

[EN] The lock Leerstetten was built in the period from 1974 to 1980 as part of the construction of the waterway Main-Danube-Canal and put into operation on 27 September 1985. With a lock-drop height of 24.67 meters, it is one of the three largest locks that have been built in Germany so far.
