Rock Creek is best known for their annual Fall Fair since 1946. Over the years Rock Creek Fall Fair has grown to become the second largest agricultural fair in the British Columbia interior. This is actually quite an impressive feat for a community as small as Rock Creek, with a population somewhere under 400.

The Rock Creek Visitor Centre is a small building just off the highway. When we were there the door was opened and no one was there. There is a sign that says "Come in We're Open" Not sure if it is staffed or we could have just missed them. There are bookcases with local information and maps. There are several maps and historical pictured hanging on the walls.

Rock Creek is rich in mining history and offers visitors a glimpse into the past. Rock Creek offers walking and biking trails, riverside camping and fishing.

The gold rushes began at Rock Creek in 1859 and throughout the area over the next 10 years. With the sudden influx of more than 5,000 miners, Governor James Douglas quickly ordered the rapid construction of the now famous Dewdney Trail.
