FR Le premier Space Invader a été posé au milieu des années 1990 dans une ruelle parisienne près de la Bastille. Ce n'est qu'en 1998 qu'Invader a « actionné le programme », qu'il a réellement commencé « l'invasion », la « prolifération ».

En aout 1999, Space Invader (interview CanalStreet) envahit Montpellier avec Zevs dans le cadre de leur collaboration @nonymous (comme quoi, le nom et le logo étaient déjà inventés par des street-Artistes bien avant d’être repris par le groupe d'hacktivistes).

Space Invader a posé 44 mosaïques dans toute la ville. Il est à noter que Montpellier est la seule ville où les envahisseurs ont été placés de manière à faire apparaitre un grand Space invader lorsqu’on les place sur le plan de la ville
Si quelques mosaïques ont été enlevées (notamment celle posée devant la préfecture) et d’autres détériorées en voulant être récupérées, il en reste encore une trentaine en plutôt bon état (certaines sont intactes comme à leur pose).

If some mosaics have been removed (notably the one placed in front of the prefecture) and others deteriorated while trying to be recovered, there are still about thirty in rather good condition (some are intact as when they were installed).
