"Ollie was out and about visiting all Tennessee Welcome Centers during the 2018 National Tourism Week recently promoting seat belt use and booster seat safety. Ollie's primary objective is to educate and develop a positive opinion towards seat belt and booster seat use in the minds of children, parents, and communities as a whole. It is the expectation of the Ollie Otter Program to provide a safer environment for children every time they ride in a vehicle. The Ollie Otter Seat Belt and Booster Seat Safety was developed by the Tennessee Road Builders Association and Tennessee Tech University. Ollie enjoys the relationship that has been developed with the Welcome Centers across the state of Tennessee and appreciates the opportunity to visit." ~ Ollie Otter
Neat Welcome Center/rest area. Vending machines in separate building with pet walk area between main building the vending machines.
A caterpillar garden with very neat sculptures of caterpillars is locate just behind the main building.
Also a Civil War Trail Historical Marker and a sign post pointing to major cities in Tennessee and which way to go to get there.
Also, right smack in the center of the sidewalk is a veterans memorial erected by the local AmVets.
In side the main building the attendant assists with directions, tourist information and maps, and maps, and --- did I mention maps?
