En avril dernier, son nom est revenu dans l’actualité lorsqu’une de ses sculptures les plus célèbres, le Grand Bienvenue, a fait un retour dans le Vieux-Québec.
Considérée comme l’attraction la plus photographiée par les touristes dans la Vieille Capitale (après le Château Frontenac), cette œuvre représentant un fou du roi avait été retirée de son emplacement habituel, devant la Caisse Desjardins, en 2017, avant d’être acquise par le promoteur GM Développement.
Cette compagnie lui a officiellement donné un nouveau trône devant la résidence touristique Monsieur Jean. «Ce n’est pas très loin de l’endroit où il était auparavant situé, et je dirais même qu’il est plus visible à son nouvel emplacement. Pendant son «absence» de près de deux ans, j’en ai profité pour la ramener à mon atelier de Magog et le restaurer. Ça m’a aussi donné l’occasion de le montrer aux Magogois durant le Circuit des arts (en 2017). Je crois que les gens d’ici étaient bien heureux de le voir dans notre région», se rappelle-t-elle.
