Abilene Scene“Many of the most spiritual and moving experiences in my life have happened in or around a river, and I wanted to showcase that spirit and movement in my mural,” Messersmith said. “Imagine you’re knee deep in a cold, moving river. You look down and the light reflects off the rippling water, the glimmering blues and greens giving way to hints of the rocks beneath your feet. I hope viewers can feel the simultaneous movement and calm of the water and rocks.”
