A free-standing town clock in Oakland, Maryland on Garrett Highway/Route 219 is steps away from the Honi-Honi Bar on Deep Creek Lake. It is easily seen while traveling in either direction along the road.

The dark finish has lost its luster. Made from cast iron components, a square pedestal supports a fluted doric column on top of which the two-dial head is mounted. The round faces are white with black minute markings and twelve numbers in an Arabic font. Its arched marquee style topper contains the rural community's name of THAYERVILLE in capital block letters with the date 1911 centered above. The hour and minute hands are straight-edge tapered with teardrop pointers.

It was manufactured in Monessen, Pennsylvania, by the Brown Street Clock Company. According to the American Street Clock History website, the family-owned business was in operation from 1906 through the mid- to late-1920s.
