Abilene Reporter-News 18 Jun 1939HARMON PARK - Harmon park, improved during the winter and spring through A NYA project directed by Bernard Buie, is a popular picnic and outing site favored by school and church groups. It is a customary meal site for visitors to Stamford's annual Texas Cowboy Reunion and Rodeo during the first week of July. Besides cooking unit, benches and tables, the park has playground equipment."
The news article doesn't specify what improvements the NYA did. It is possible they just planted trees, or dug the small duck pond.
