The Steinman-style Suspension Bridge, 'was conceived, designed, built and funded by local visionary Walter Taylor, a contractor who lived in Graceville' [Wiki]. The suspension cables used here had been used in the building of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
'The bridge is unique among Brisbane bridges in that the two towers of the bridge house residential accommodation, which were occupied until mid 2010 when the last members of the original toll master's family moved out.' [Also ex-Wikipedia: (

The bridge was opened on 14 February, 1936, costing £85,000, and operated as a toll bridge until the 1960's. It was initially called the Indooroopilly Toll Bridge, and renamed in 1956 after Walter Taylor's death (1955) in his honour. [ex- (
