The Veterans Memorial consists of five marble slabs, each with a hole in the middle. At 11:11 AM on Veterans Day the sun shines through each slab to illuminate the seal of the United States in front of the slabs. The area around the monument is covered with red bricks. Those from the seal forward are engraved with the names of veterans of each branch of the Armed Forces. Each marble slab carries the seal of one of the branches.
