Water wells were sunk to extract water from the aquifer's underground and springs. The hand pump, is one of which remains on display.
Many wells were sunk between the 1700 and 1800.
The pump was erected in 1891 and was paid for by public subscriptions

How to find.: From the local public house (The wagon and horse), walking towards Lincoln. Passing a number of old premises. Visitors will see the pump and plaque adjacent to a semi detached property
