Until 1856, Höfen an der Enz did not have its own cemetery, instead using one in the neighboring village of Calmbach. The oldest gravestone is from that time. In 1878, 1952, and 1978, the cemetery was extended.
The cemetery also contains the local memorial to German soldiers who fell or were missing from WWI and WWII.
A grave of note belongs to General Hermann Geyer. He was the General of the Infantry during World War II. After the war, he was the mayor of Höfen an der Enz from 1945-1946. At which point, he was commanded by the French General Koenig of occupying forces in Germany, to deliver all German troops who fled from the Eastern Front, to an American processing center. Geyer wrote a letter in which he refused. He committed suicide shortly after. While Koenig initially refused to let Geyer be buried in Höfen, his body was moved home a week later. The family had bad luck. One son was killed in action in 1942 and the other died in 1948 from Tuberculosis contracted while a prisoner on the Eastern front. His wife Charlotte also died in 1948. The entire family is buried in Höfen.
