Smithsonian Art Inventory"A tree-shaped abstract sculpture composed of 2,500 pieces of glass and oxidized steel rods. Above the 18 foot high trunk portion are three branches which sway with the breeze. The major portion of the trunk is formed by five pieces of 1 1/2 inch angle steel. The individual pieces of glass are attached to the tree by short metal rods. The glass is various shades of white and amber. The sculpture is set in concrete in an alcove of the Rudder Center. The branches extend above the alcove walls and are affected by the breeze from the second level of the building."
