This labyrinth can be found southwest of the Kay Spiritual Life Center on the American University campus in Washington, DC. A metal plaque on a plinth to the northeast reads:
The University Labyrinth

Dedicated to the Rev. Joe Eldridge for his 19 years of tireless
work as University Chaplain, nurturing the spiritual life and
well-being of the American University community.

The labyrinth is a walking path used since ancient times for
meditation, reflection, and contemplation. It can be walked
alone or with others. It is a space designed to encourage
contemplation and problem-solving, or simply to help you slow
down and reduce stress.

Rev. Eldridge wrote, this labyrinth is “a walking meditation enabling
us to take time to ponder and look inward, revealing to us what is
important and makes us whole.”
