The Aberdeenshire town of Inverurie is situated on the main A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road, some fifteen miles from Aberdeen. The golf course here was established in 1923 and has been modified and extended since to its current status.
The course is parkland in nature and the opening nine holes lie on the side of a hill. The back nine lie mostly at the top of the hill and are more wooded with more whins and gorse bushes lining the fairway, particularly from holes 10 to 14.
The length of the course is around 5,700 yards off the back tees, and 5,400 off the yellow tees, both playing to a par of 69, with one par five (the 5th), and four short holes (the 4th, 7th, 10th and 15th), the only par four over 400 yards comes at the 16th.
The course lies west of Inverurie, separated by the A96 which by-passes the town. it is reached via a roundabout at the north edge of the town and up a narrow road which heads under the A96 and up the hill to the car park.
