Birds Excited Into Flight, completed in 1981, is the second sculpture by Larry Griffis in Buffalo. Seven human figures stand in a circle, with their arms upraised. The hands of the figures evolve into birds taking flight, which take the shape of a pyramid over the figures. The sculpture is 20 feet high and is made of cold-rolled steel.
