"We will probably be surprised by the roof of the bell tower. This bell-tower once had an arrow which, under the Revolution, was surmounted by a cap called "of liberty". in 1818, a sub-prefect found this unsightly ornament and ordered the Mayor to remove it. It was not sooner that, as a result of a divine or diabolical intervention, the opinions diverge on this point, the steeple was struck by lightning and collapsed. He was replaced by the current roof."

"On sera sans doute surpris par le toit du clocher. Ce clocher avait jadis une flèche qui, sous la Révolution, fut surmonté d’un bonnet dit « de la liberté ». en 1818, un Sous-préfet trouva cet ornement disgracieux et ordonna au Maire de le faire disparaitre. Cela ne fut pas plus tôt fait que, par suite d’une intervention divine ou diabolique, les opinions divergent sur ce point, le clocher fut touché par la foudre et s’effondra. Il fut remplacé par le toit actuel."
