The inscriptions on the memorial are:-
"In Proud and affectionate remembrance of the men of this parish who fell in the great war 1914-1919 whose names are recorded within the church"
There is additional words for the second world war:- "Also those who died in the war of 1939 - 1045
On the base there are some word which read:-
" dved one stood aro
to bid a fond farewe
of comfort coul
those they loved"
(At the time of my visit, the memorial was covered with flower and hiding all of the lettering...
