I did not take the tour, but wandered around on my own. I talked with the grounds keepers, and the park workers....(you learn more truth that way)...the history I could look up.

As I was taking photos of the Trommel and the sluice box, I noticed something down by the stream...not in the brochure...I walked down and by gum a miner statue.

He down not have a pan in his hands, but is washing something off in the stream. Squatting down, rubbing hands together in the upper edges of the water, wearing khaki pants, a work shirt and a miners helmet with carbide light mounted on top... there are a couple of oxidation areas on the statue...it does need a good cleaning.
