The ISS reached a high altitude of 50 degrees at 23:05:19 CDT with an expected magnitude of -2.9 at our Site 1 in Edmond, OK. The viewing location was near the intersection of I-35 and Covell Road, by the Fire Training Center. We viewed the ISS from approximately 23:02:35 until 23:08:35 with the appearance alternately brightening and dimming due to patchy haze.
The ISS appeared in the southwest, passed through the Big Dipper and Cassiopeia (see the gallery for screenshots taken with the SkyView Lite app during the pass) before setting in the northeast. The moon and Jupiter were bright in the southern sky.
At Site 2 in Brunete, Spain at 06:24:13 Picarax observed the ISS reach a maximum altitude of 87 degrees at a magnitude of -3.8. The distance covered was 5,538 miles (18.9 min. x 293 mi./min.) from Edmond to Brunete. Picarax had a great view of this ISS pass, and even had a little ISS watcher tag along. As usual, his photos of the location are great!
