This mausoleum is located in the Erie Cemetery in Erie, PA. Built into the side of a hill, the mausoleum has no names inscribed on it, but only a design above the door that looks somewhat like the letter "v." This lack of name has caused many myths and legends to be born over the years, namely that it is the tomb of a vampire. According to cemetery management, it is actually called the "Brown Vault," as it is owned by the Brown family, but no one by that name is buried there. The tomb actually contains the remains of seven individuals from a Goodrich family, the last of which died in 1880. Although, to most Erie residents, is known simply as the "Vampire Crypt."
