The Natural History Museum Erfurt is a natural history museum in the Thuringian state capital Erfurt. It is located in the city centre in the building of a former woad store.
In addition to the permanent exhibition on the topics of forest, field, city and earth history, changing special exhibitions are also shown.
A special attraction is the replica of Noah's Ark: numerous animals are set up in a swaying hull. This presentation is intended to draw attention to the worldwide threat to biodiversity.
The botanical, zoological, mineralogical and palaeontological collections are fed by private donations and independent research.

The Museum of Natural History was opened in 1922 in the Haus zum Stockfisch. In 1968 it was closed here and the collections were moved to temporary shelters. In 1995, after four years of construction, it was reopened at a new location in the Great Ark in a woad warehouse dating from 1577.
