Chetwynd Gospel Tabernacle is part of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada in the Far North Yukon Section. (Fr: Les Assemblées de la Pentecôte du Canada)
This is a small one story church almost hidden from view. It has grey siding with a hip roof in the front and a gable roof behind. There is a portico at the entrance.
Chetwynd is known as the Chainsaw Capital of the World, as they hold the International Chainsaw Carving Championship annually for the last 15 years. There are over 225 chainsaw carvings displayed throughout the town. We attended the competition in June 2019.
At the corner of 53rd Avenue NE just before turning in the church's driveway you will notice one of the chainsaw cravings displayed. It is titled "Searching" and created by Simon O'Rourke from North Wales, England in 2012. A picture is in the gallery.
